NEW THIS SEASON

Breckenridge Celebrates 20 Years of Snowboarding
Breckenridge Ski Resort celebrates 20 years of snowboarding during the 04-05 season. The resort was one of the first to embrace the sport, and to host one of the initial major snowboard competitions in the industry, The World Snowboarding Championships, or “The World’s,” in 1986. The 04-05 season will highlight the personalities and pioneers who introduced snowboarding to the world, and have helped to grow the sport over the years. Snowboarding has become a major component of the Breckenridge experience, helping to shape the culture and lifestyle found on the mountain and in town. Plans for 04-05 include the addition of a new 20th Anniversary rail and a Breck Team Rider-designed rail in Freeway Terrain Park. Also watch for events and activities taking place throughout the 04-05 season with a focus on celebrating 20 years of snowboarding at Breckenridge. For more information visit www.breckenridge.com or call 970-453-5000.

Women's Winter Week (January 15 - 23, 2005)
Thanks to overwhelming feedback from the resort's past women's-specific camps and clinics, Breckenridge introduces its first annual Women’s Winter Week, Jan. 15 - 23. Things get rolling with LUNAFEST, a national festival of films by, for or about women. Following LUNAFEST, women of all ages can participate in female-specific equipment demos, women’s camps and clinics in alpine in-bounds and backcountry skiing, as well as healing components, such as acupuncture and massage treatments, naturopathy workshops, yoga and much more, throughout the week. For more information visit www.breckenridge.com or call Laura Allen, Program Coordinator at 970-496-7534; 888-LRN-2SKI or e-mail Laura at brskischoolprograms@vailresorts.com.

4 Parks, 4 Pipes, 4 Peaks
At Breckenridge this season, the fun comes in fours. The resort introduces four parks and four pipes, in addition to its already legendary four peaks. The resort’s renowned Freeway Terrain Park and Pipe return for yet another season, once again attracting the world’s best freeriders and top events. Also check out one of the resort’s three smaller parks and pipes, including a learning park, smaller park and medium-sized park, as well as two learning pipes and a meduim-sized pipe, each complete with features to help teach all levels of skier and rider – from beginners to experts.
